Around June 2022, Instagram began to roll out a feature where users could pin a maximum of three posts of their choice at the top of their profile feed. Unlike the rest of your chronological posts, these pinned posts remain at the top, ensuring they are the first thing visitors see.

How to pin a post on Instagram.
Pinned post on Instagram allows you to display three posts that best represent your brand. You are in full control of what people first see when looking at your account. What’s more, pinning a post is actually incredibly easy!
- Open the image, video or reel you want to pin
- Click on the three dots (…) in the top left
- Click on the “Pin to your profile” option
You can unpin posts using the same steps.
While it may seem like a nonchalant addition, you shouldn’t overlook the impact it can have on the first impression people receive when checking out your profile. You should want to introduce new visitors to your brand by curating images that channel the essence of what you do.

Additionally, it ensures that these important posts don’t get lost in your feed. If you have achieved a certain milestone or have an announcement to make, these three slots are great at conveying any message you see fit!
Things to bear in mind with pinning posts on Instagram.
Only 3 at a time – Once three posts are pinned, you have to unpin one to pin another.
Unlike your chronological feed, your pinned posts will appear in the order in which they were pinned.
Your post will be temporarily removed from your regular feed if it is pinned. It will return to its original position if the post is unpinned.
All chronological posts will appear after the pinned posts and not at the top of your profile.
You can update your pinned posts at any time and replace them
