Seb Lansdowne – Sokada’s New Online Marketing Executive

Sokada is growing! Welcome aboard Seb Lansdowne who will join our team as a Online Marketing Executive...

About me

I’m Seb, a 22 year old who is looking to continue applying my marketing knowledge from university and previous marketing jobs to the Sokada team. Joining the Sokada Marketing Team is an exciting opportunity for me, where I hope to continue learning, whilst providing new ideas to the team, aiding the growth of Sokada further.

I love sports, especially football, so spend most my free time outside of work either playing or watching them! I’m currently playing football, golf, volleyball, whilst going to the gym 4/5 times a week, but have also previously partaken in tennis, table tennis, cricket, athletics and rugby where I played from the ages of 5 to 18. I enjoy team sports most which translates into my work as well, finding working together as a group towards a shared goal as more rewarding than working by myself.

Since moving back from university this past summer, I have enjoyed being home and spending lots of time with my family, six month old puppy, and friends from both school and university.

Before Sokada

After getting ACC in my A-Levels (A in Business, C in History and C in Economics), I decided I wanted to go to university and chose Bournemouth due to its impressive business course and how nice the area of Dorset is as a whole. I took Business Studies and Marketing as my degree where I finished with a 2:1, also completing a placement year at Dorset Mind where I ran their social media alongside monitoring KPI’s and attending/partaking in charity events. This was my first taste of real world marketing where I realised my passion for promoting content online. The summer after my placement I also took a marketing internship at Panamore, where my role was catered towards market research and finding potential clients for the business, before going back for my final year at university.

I currently also work part time marketing Birch Gin on social media, with the goal of increasing follower count and improving the content posted on its channels. I also work when I can at my parents zero waste shop, Buy The Weigh, since being opened in 2020. which has helped improve my sales skills as well as now being a trained barrister as well.

Why Sokada

Sokada is a perfect fit for me. Whilst having previous marketing experience, both in education and employment, I realise I am still young and have plenty to learn. By working at Sokada within a small group, this should aid my knowledge and understanding of marketing, whilst learning key skills not yet obtained from previous work. Sokada has a great passion for marketing and I hope to add to this and continue the progression Sokada are making as a business. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me here.
