Hey! I’m Connor, the new marketing apprentice of the Sokada Team. I specialise in video, content, and strategy. After already completing an apprenticeship in content creation and marketing, I’ve come to Sokada to level up my skills and take part in the level 4 apprenticeship with Vocate. My role will be to create content and support the team by doing content strategy.

I grew up relatively locally, in a small town in the South of England called Seaford. Studying there through GCSE, where I first discovered my skills and passion in Media & Film Production. Chasing my passion has taken me down many roads, starting at College, really dialling in my film and production skills, I achieved awards, took part in hands-on production and even acting, this really laid the foundation of my role, ultimately leading me to move to London to spend over 2 years studying Film and TV. During this time, I began to find excitement in the marketing side of the film production process, but hadn’t yet started following those ideas.
After London, I moved back to the Brighton area and began creating content for local artists, musicians and SME’s. This covered the full life-cycle of production, from pre-post with marketing as a heavy part of the process. I found I was effective at the marketing process, finding what it is that garners attention and how to target a niche audience and starting to bring together my ability as a package.
Coming out of lockdown, I moved to Southampton, where I supported my passion through foundational support roles such as warehouse operations, hospitality, cleaning (in a cinema) and construction. After moving back to the local area, I started an apprenticeship with Creative Process Digital. 1 year and 6 months later, I achieved a distinction on the level 3 course, so joining Sokada has given me the opportunity to level up my skillset, utilise my content and film experience and bring all of my transferable skills to implement across the board.
When I’m not working or filming content, my passions include going to the gym, cooking healthy foods, or, if I’m feeling lazy, gaming. I massively enjoy RPG-type games and achieving platinum trophies. I have recently taken up cycling – riding the entirety of the Cuckoo Trail is a recent achievement! I have two dogs (cocker spaniels), which I love taking for walks and training.
Previous Roles
Before I joined Sokada, I stepped into many foundational support roles. Since starting work at 15, I have done everything from retail and construction, through to working self-employed in kitchens and bars, and of course, within the film space. Giving me valuable, transferable skills that still support me and my work ethic to this day.
During my apprenticeship, I worked within the same field for a company in Albourne. Here, I managed internal and external communications, as well as scheduled, planned, and created content for many clients. Having my fingers in many pies, I supported senior positions and was quickly given a promotion position that involved directly sourcing clients, building rapport, direct social media content creation, and planning interviews, events and our potential clients. Due to this company being an SME, and me having transferable skills, I also completed admin tasks, supported the building works, and even began transforming the basement into a studio environment.
Working at Sokada
As of writing this, it’s my first day at Sokada, and I’m excited to get going. They are an incredibly accommodating team, making me feel very welcome from the start. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds, the work and getting stuck in with my first client and their content.
I’m excited to see how I fit in with the team and how my strengths can support their roles, potentially even expanding our offer to in-person shoots for social media, drone content or animation. Let’s see what the future holds for us.
